ProMedNet is a professional network for people exploring and building health careers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who can see it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and name.
- Profile details you choose to add, such as your headline, discipline, school, experience, skills, and interests.
- A school email address, if you use one to verify your student status.
- Posts, comments, reactions, poll votes, messages, and community memberships.
- Shadowing requests, scheduled sessions, and hours verified by hosts.
- Hospital pathway applications: your legal name, school, the information each hospital requires, and the documents you upload, which can include health records such as immunizations.
- Technical data: a sign-in cookie, and server logs with your IP address and browser type.
How we use it
- To run ProMedNet: show your profile, deliver posts and messages, and schedule shadowing.
- To verify trust tiers, such as student status from a school email.
- To send your pathway application and documents to the hospital coordinator who reviews them.
- To send sign-in links and account notifications by email.
- To keep the community safe, including reviewing reports and preventing abuse.
We do not sell your information and do not show ads based on it.
Who can see what
- Your profile and posts are visible to signed-in members.
- Posts in a private community are visible only to its members.
- Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation.
- Pathway applications and documents are visible only to you and the coordinators of that hospital pathway.
Service providers
ProMedNet runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States, which hosts our servers, database, document storage, and email. Cloudflare delivers and protects the website. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and uploaded documents are stored privately. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. Other information is kept while your account is open. You can delete your posts and comments at any time.
Your choices
You can edit your profile at any time. To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email [email protected].
Students under 18
You must be at least 13 to use ProMedNet. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and hospital pathways may require a guardian's signature on your paperwork.
Not a medical record
ProMedNet is an education and networking service, not a healthcare provider. Never post information that identifies a patient.
